Abstract
A series of new silylated sulfoximines has been prepared by transsilylation experiments. In the course of these reactions the trimethylsilyl groups of (CH3)2S(O)NSi(CH3)3 were replaced by functional halosilyl ligands -SiR2X, -SiRX2, or -SiX3, respectively. Upon heating, the products undergo a redistribution reaction which leads to bis(sulfoximino)silane species [(CH3)2S(O)N]2SiRX with X = R or Hal. All compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, molecular weights, IR and NMR spectra. In two cases the experiments have been extended to include the germanium analogs.
