Abstract

A series of new silylated sulfoximines has been prepared by transsilylation experiments. In the course of these reactions the trimethylsilyl groups of (CH₃)₂S(O)NSi(CH₃)₃ were replaced by functional halosilyl ligands -SiR₂X, -SiRX₂, or -SiX₃, respectively. Upon heating, the products undergo a redistribution reaction which leads to bis(sulfoximino)silane species [(CH₃)₂S(O)N]₂SiRX with X = R or Hal. All compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, molecular weights, IR and NMR spectra. In two cases the experiments have been extended to include the germanium analogs.
