Abstract
There has been a steady increase in study surveys with questions to patients with restless legs syndrome (RLS). For this reason, the research group 'Motor activity and sleep' of the German Sleep Society (DGSM - Deutsche Gesellschaft für Schlafforschung und Schlafmedizin) has for the first time drawn up recommendations for this collection of data and its social-medical evaluation. The following summarises their specific recommendations for evaluating RLS as part of a medical study survey (from [5]). These consensus guidelines are meant to offer a basis for unifying and ensuring the quality of RLS surveys; they do not intend to impose rules on individual studies.
