Abstract
An epicutaneous patch test with allergens known to elicit IgE-mediated reactions with evaluation of eczematous skin lesions after 24-72 h (atopy patch test, APT) can be used as diagnostic tool in patients with atopic eczema. With improved standardization of methods, the APT has gained interest as controlled inflammation model for atopic eczema. This review describes the authors' recent results obtained in studies using the APT. Atopy patch test.
