Abstract

MuCell® process is widely used as an industrial microcellular injection molding process. This process was used in this study to produce an implant with porous structure for treating reflux-disease (Gastro Oesohageal Reflux Disease). After experiments it was proved that the pore morphology of foamed implants could be adjusted through varying the process parameters such as gas content, injection speed, plasticizing temperature etc.. As conclusion some key parameters of MuCell® process were found to be decisive for the pore morphology and this industrial process was also successful used in medical area.
