Abstract

Evolution of automation software for machines and plants is tightly correlated with the evolution of itsmechanics and electronics. The challenges on software engineering of systems operated and evolved for 15 and 20 years is discussed in this paper. To allow the development and evaluation within the DFG SPP 1593, a demonstration scenario has been developed in order to study such evolutions.
