Abstract

The European Qualification Framework (EQF) was established as a joint knowledge base for educational institutions. However, several challenges have been identified by prior studies targeting the implementation of the European Qualification Framework to various national structures. To tackle these issues, this study, as part of a subproject of the European alliance project 'EuroTeQ Engineering University', aims to explore the general frameworks implemented based on the EQF by investigating the structure of the national engineering educational systems in six European institutions. Results suggested that there are several differences with regard to the implementation of EQF and the structures of the educational programs between the six institutions. Based on these findings further implications and suggestions for comparability of the national engineering educational systems are discussed.
