Abstract

Due to the planned profound expansion of photovoltaic systems and charging points in Germany, the stress on the German low-voltage grids is increasing. To relieve the grid during peak load and peak feed-in periods, an approach for a decentralized, self-sufficient control of flexible loads was developed in the project FLAIR2. In a real laboratory, measurement data are collected and the approach is tested in the field. The aim of this research is to define a well-functioning control algorithm for diverse grid configurations without having to set of individual parameters. Based on measurement data, various characteristics of the grid behavior such as the voltage level, the dispersion or the imbalance of voltage is used to define grid cluster. In this paper, the grid clusters are exemplarily represented by three modules, which are measuring points in the low voltage grid. Three algorithm variants are applied to these and the behavior of the algorithms is analyzed. For future series application of this approach, it is important that the final algorithm is working without discrimination, regardless of the location of the household in the grid. Therefore, the algorithm is based only on the local measurement data, and no specification of technical conditions is required.
