339. Kompartmentektomie mit sofortiger Wiederherstellung der Funktion im Bereich der oberen Extremität

Soft tissue sarcomas of the upper extremities mean that a high amputation or exarticulation in the shoulder joint will have to be carried out. In four cases we resected the whole biceps or triceps compartment and restored function by means of a neurovascular latissimus dorsi island flap. The function of the ventral or dorsal muscle group was restored immediately. No local recurrences or metastases were found during regular follow-up examinations after two years. For certain tumors, compartmentectomy is radical enough.
